Dr. Nedya is a dentist. Inspired by Gandhi, she is living with her husband and daughter in a village and has taken up farming. They are running a learning centre for the village children. She has a keen interest in birding, nature and crafts, and strives to inculcate these interests in children too.
Over the last four years, she has been organising the online learning sessions conducted by Chithra Balasubramaniam on classical Tamil literature.
