Lavanya Prasad

Lavanya Prasad is an electrical and electronics engineer turned professional storyteller who believes she makes better and long lasting connections using through stories than electrical wires. Her organization Talescope works with children, adults and senior citizens using stories as a medium.A trained bharatanatyam dancer and carnatic singer Lavanya loves to incorporate these elements in her performances.She has been invited to conduct workshops and give performances in prestigious lit fests and conferences across India and abroad.Lavanya’s deep interest in Comparitive Mythology and folklore has led her to spear head exclusive performances in abroad, to mention a few, Ramayana as collaborative experience between Indonesian and Indian storytellers that was presented in Jakarta. Stories in “Villu Paatu” style an oral storytelling traditions from South India, presented in Srilanka and a unique workshop on the art of telling stories to senior citizens for people in South Korea. Her Roots project with senior citizens has been acknowledged and appreciated by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri. P .Narendra Modi. Lavanya continues to bring people together through stories, for she believes the shortest distance between two people is a story.
