
Humayun Sangheer
Humayun Sangheer is a passionate reader and writer, he finds joy in weaving stories that vividly portray rural life. Based in Hyderabad, his literary journey reflects a deep connection with grassroots experiences and storytelling.
He has authored three acclaimed short story collections: Kamunikanta, Illinthapandlu, and Mera Baap Khayoom. With a repertoire of 65 short stories and 4 novels, his writing has garnered critical recognition. His story Haram won the second prize in the 2019 short story competition organized by Namasthe Telangana’s Mulkanur Sahiti Peetham, while Iblis secured the first prize in the same competition in 2022. Another story, Chimney, received first prize from the Let’s Film Telangana short story contest.
His books have also earned notable literary honors. Kamunikanta received the Kolakaluri Bhagirathi Award (2023), and Illinthapandlu was honored with the Dr. Vedagiri Rambabu Kathanika Award (2024). His latest work, a novel titled Chimney, is slated for publication this year.
In addition to literature, he has made his mark in the world of cinema and television—contributing as a writer, assisting in direction, and working in programming for TV shows. He has acted in significant roles in films like Dorasani and 90’s Middle Class Biopic, and is currently penning dialogues for two upcoming films.
