Padmini Nagaraju

Padmini Nagaraju is a writer, poet, playwright, and academic from Saligrama in Mysuru district. With a doctorate from the University of Mysore, she has taught at Rani Saraladevi College, served on the Advisory Committee of the Sahitya Akademi, and as Secretary of the Sahitya Parishat.

Her acclaimed works include the poetry collections Geḷathiyāguvudendare and Uriva Beṅkige Maiyella Bāyi Purāve Nīḍabēkilla, the short story collection Samādhi Melina Hoovu, the play Avva, as well as essays, biographies, edited volumes, and translations. She has been honoured with several awards, including the Umadevi Datti Award, Infosys Sudha Murthy Award, Rangashilpi, and the Srinivasa Smaraṇārtha P.K. Narayana Datti Award.

At BBLF 2025, Padmini Nagaraju brings her rich literary vision and decades of creative and critical engagement with Kannada literature to the festival’s conversations.
