
Hema Pattanashetti
Hema Pattanashetti is a poet, writer, and former lecturer in psychology and Kannada. She has authored several notable works, including Virahotsava, Hosa Haadu, Kannugalali Kanasu Thumbi, Musukidi Mabbinalli, Bagata Bagari, Tunta Makkala Tante, and Hennu. Her critical and reflective writings include Maryadeya Musukinalli and Anulekha, among others.
For her contribution to literature, she has received many awards, including the International Women’s Year Award, Ratnamma Heggade First Prize, and the Mallika Award.
Hema is also the founder of Ananya Prakashana, through which she has published over 90 books, and she has served as the editor of the literary journal Sankalana.
At BBLF 2025, she brings her rich literary voice and experience as a writer, publisher, and editor to the festival’s celebrations of language and creativity.”
