Manayya Badiger
Dr. Manayya N. Badiger (b. 1961, Yadgir, Karnataka) is a renowned sculptor, educator, and recipient of the Doctor of Literature from Gulbarga University (2023). Trained in fine arts at Kalaburagi, he has created iconic sculptures including bronze statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Sir M. Visvesvaraya in Bangalore. With over three decades in teaching and thousands of students mentored, he has played a key role in promoting Karnataka’s sculptural traditions. A member of the Karnataka Shilpakala Academy and several national art panels, he has received numerous awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy in 2021.
