M Ezumalai

Dr. M. Ezumalai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tamil, with expertise in Folklore, Sangam Literature, and Modern Tamil Literature. He earned his Ph.D. for his research titled “Naattaar Pentheiva Vazhipaattin Arasiyal Porulathaaram — Vellore District”. Over the past three years, he has been teaching and conducting extensive fieldwork across Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, and Andhra Pradesh, identifying over 700 Draupadi Amman temples and more than 200 Therukoothu troupes.

He has participated in several national and international seminars and has authored three books on folklore. His research highlights the rich cultural and ritualistic traditions of rural Tamil Nadu and their socio-political significance.
