
Chidanand Sali
Chidananda Sali, a native of Siravara, Raichur, is a distinguished Kannada poet, short story writer, and translator. Holding degrees in Mathematics, Journalism, and Kannada, he’s also an M.Phil, PGDHE, and PGDRM holder. A former journalist, he currently teaches mathematics in a government high school.
Sali is a highly awarded author, recognized in numerous prestigious literary competitions. His diverse works include poetry (Re. ..), Ghazals (Mouna), short stories (Dharege Nidreyu Illa), and essays (Ondu Bogase Bisilu), alongside research and interviews.
A prolific translator, he has rendered works from Telugu, Hindi, and Urdu into Kannada, including Yajna and Mohana Mohana. He has also edited literary collections.
His accolades include the Kanavi Kavya Prashasti, Bendre Grantha Bahumana, and the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Book Award, among many others. His writings are incorporated into various academic curricula, and some of his stories have been translated into Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English.
