Vidyarashmi Pelattadka is a distinguished Kannada poet, journalist, and author from Pelattadka village on the Karnataka–Kerala border. A postgraduate in Journalism from Mangalore University, she has worked with leading media organizations including Kannada Prabha, Suvarna News, and Vijaya Next, and currently serves as the Chief of the Magazine Section at Vijaya Karnataka.   She is the author of the acclaimed poetry collections Gaurīduḥkha and Kere Daḍa, and the biographical work Yakṣa Gana Leelavali, which received the Karnataka Yakshagana Academy Book Award (2021). Her literary contributions have also earned her the V. K. Gokak Trust Fellowship, the Sahitya Parishat Mayuravarma Award (2023), the CPK Award (2024), and several other honours. Besides poetry, she has written short stories, essays, and numerous articles, and writes the fortnightly column Mugila Hakki in Vijaya Karnataka.
