Subbu Holeyar (H. K. Subbaiah) is a distinguished Kannada poet, author, and television presenter, widely recognized for his evocative poetry and contributions to Kannada literature and media. Trained in theatre at Ninasam, Heggodu, he has seamlessly combined literary expression with performance and public engagement.   He currently serves as a presenter on Doordarshan Chandana and is the author of acclaimed poetry collections, including Soojigatrada Kolaveyinda Manushyanobban Haadu and Ellara Beralalloo Antikonda Dukhave. His autobiographical work Dana Kayadavanu was adapted into the feature film Kariya Kanbitta, further extending the reach of his literary work.   A recipient of the Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award and several other prestigious literary honours, Subbu Holeyar continues to be a significant voice in contemporary Kannada literature, celebrated for his sensitive portrayal of human experiences and social realities.
