Maruthi Powrohitham is a noted Telugu short story writer and novelist. He has published two acclaimed short story anthologies, Urimarlu and Illidisina Tommidi Kathalu, along with the novel Pranaya Hampi. The novel was translated into Kannada by Kum. Vee, introducing his work to a wider readership.   Maruthi Powrohitham currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Government Teacher Training College, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
