N. Vadivelan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tamil, specializing in Tamil Literature, Folklore, and Anthropology. He earned his Ph.D. from Tamil University in 2025 with a dissertation on the history and oral traditions of tea plantation workers in Idukki, Kerala. He has participated in numerous national and international conferences, presenting research on folklore, tribal traditions, plantation workers, and Tamil cultural heritage, and has published scholarly articles in UGC CARE-listed journals.
His research interests include Tamil folklore, oral traditions, anthropology, and the cultural history of marginalized communities. He has also undergone advanced training in research methodology, folklore studies, and Classical Tamil literature, and has delivered invited lectures on the folklore and cultural life of tea plantation workers.
