Sushil Kumar (born January 11, 1984) is a Tamil writer and translator from Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. His works explore themes of ordinary lives, human beliefs, myths, history, and education. He has published four acclaimed short story collections—Moongil, Sapthaavarnam, Adiyanthiram, and Kannigai—as well as the novel Suntharavanam. As a translator, he has brought important international works into Tamil, including Therukkale Pallikkoodam (translated from Rahul Alvaris' Free from School) and Kanavup Porveeran, a collection of stories by renowned writers such as Anton Chekhov, Guy de Maupassant, Kobo Abe, Raymond Carver, and Isaac Bashevis Singer. In 2021, he received the Best Story Award in the Ka.Naa.Su Memorial Short Story Competition.
