Anand Kumar (born 22 March 1984) is a contemporary Tamil poet, documentary filmmaker, and photographer based in Coimbatore. A Computer Science graduate, he began his career as a software engineer before moving into education, where he currently works in curriculum development and teaching. Writing seriously since 2020, Anand Kumar made his literary debut with the poem Kutti Veedu in Solvanam magazine. His poetry, known for its simplicity and philosophical depth, explores themes of memory, relationships, solitude, and everyday life. His debut collection, Tip Tip Tip (2021), received the Vishnupuram–Kumaragurubaran Award in 2022, followed by Plum Cake (2025). He has also directed acclaimed documentaries on Tamil writers, including Veedum Veethigalum on poet Vikramadityan and Suzharpaathai Yaathreegan on writer Yuvan Chandrasekar, while actively pursuing photography alongside his literary work.
