Rathna Venkat is a Tamil poet based in Bengaluru, originally from Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu. Having lived in New Jersey, New Delhi, and Mumbai, she brings diverse cultural experiences to her writing. She holds an M.Com. and a B.Ed., and writes under the pen name Rathna Venkat, drawing deep inspiration from the richness of Classical Tamil Sangam literature. Her published works include Mullai Muruval, Kaalaatheethathin Suzhal (winner of the Padithurai Trust Best Poetry Collection Award), Meechiru Varamena.., the bilingual Kintsugi (translated into English by N. Srivatsa), Maatralor, Mella Chidharu.., and her latest collection Isali@Dunbar_151 (2026). Through her poetry, Rathna Venkat blends classical aesthetics with contemporary sensibilities, establishing herself as a distinctive voice in modern Tamil literature.
