She serves as the Head of the Department of Kannada at NMKRV Degree College, Bengaluru, where she has been actively engaged in teaching, research, and mentoring students.

Dr. Hegde Doddahonda has undertaken extensive research in Kannada literature, with her scholarly work focusing on Shankar Mokashi Punekar’s Gangavva Gangamayi and the broader field of Modern Kannada Literary Criticism: Poetry, for which she was awarded a Ph.D.
