Maya B. Nair is a Kannada writer, translator, and retired Karnataka Government officer based in Bengaluru. Holding postgraduate degrees in Sociology, Public Administration, and Rural Development, she has served in several key administrative positions, including Personal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister's Secretariat and the RDPR Department, Karnataka Government. She is the author of the Kannada short story collection Ankura and has translated numerous acclaimed Malayalam literary works into Kannada, fostering literary exchange between the two languages. She has also worked as an anchor for the "Karnataka Vahini" programme on Chandana Doordarshan. Her contributions to literature have been recognised with the Change Makers Award 2025 by Suvarna Karnataka Kerala Samajam and the Sneha Rathna Award by Athmashree Kannada Saamskruthika Prathishtana.
