Anupama K. Benachinamaradi hails from Benivada village in Belagavi district. A postgraduate in engineering, she is also a creative writer and columnist. She has authored 11 children’s books and is the founder of Awwa Pustaka, a publishing house dedicated to children’s books in Kannada and English.   She is also the winner of 'Deccan Herald Changemeker 2026' by Deccan Herald media and winner of 'Women to Watch 2026' by PrintWeek media.   Anupama has been a speaker and panelist at numerous literary festivals and events across India, addressing thousands of students both offline and online. A passionate nature lover, she spends her free time observing the world of birds and insects with children—answering their curious questions and cherishing every moment of wonder.
