Kadarkarai Mathavilasa Angatham is a Tamil poet, researcher, journalist, and author with over three decades of experience in literature and more than 25 years in leading Tamil media. Born in Virudhachalam, Tamil Nadu, and based in Chennai, he is widely recognized for his pioneering literary journalism and extensive research on Subramania Bharathi, A.K. Chettiar, and Tamil cultural history.

An acclaimed scholar, he received the Ananda Vikatan Award (2016), the Tamil Perayam Bharathi Award from SRM University (2024), and several other literary honors. His major works include the landmark research volumes Bharathi Vijayam, Yaamarindha Pulavan, Gandhi Padukolai: Pathirikai Pathivugal, and an authoritative study on the classic film Parasakthi. He has also published six poetry collections and several acclaimed books on literature, history, and cinema.
