Anuradha Anand is a Tamil writer, poet, and literary translator with ten published books, including eight collections of translated poetry, one collection of translated short stories, and her original short story collection Mayirpeeli, which won the Jayanthan Award for Best Creative Fiction (2025). Born in Chennai, she graduated in Physics from Stella Maris College and holds a postgraduate degree in Computer Applications. Her translations of works by poets such as Emily Dickinson, Sylvia Plath, Nicanor Parra, and Sappho have introduced major international voices to Tamil readers. She has received the Aathmanaam Award (2018), Vikatan Award (2019), and Vaasagasaalai Award (2021) for translation. Her writings have appeared in leading Tamil literary journals and magazines, and she was among the 40 poets selected to read at the Semmozhi Maanadu organized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. She currently divides her time between Chennai and London.
