Joseph John is a theatre director, actor, acting trainer, writer, and cultural educator with over 38 years of experience in theatre, cinema, puppetry, and arts education. Born in Champakulam, Kerala, he has trained at prestigious institutions including Abhinaya Theatre Research Centre, Ninasam, Kerala Kalamandalam, Rangayana Mysore, and Odin Teatret, Denmark, where he worked under renowned theatre director Eugenio Barba.

He has directed 60+ plays, acted in 80+ productions, and performed in 500+ street plays, blending traditional Indian performance forms with contemporary theatre. Joseph is the founder of Jo Act Academy and Golden Dolls Puppet Theatre, and has conducted theatre and teacher-training workshops across India.

A bilingual writer in Malayalam and Kannada, he has authored the short story collection Sakkada and the poetry anthology Kausani. He continues to mentor aspiring artists while promoting theatre as a powerful medium for education and cultural expression.
