Shaswata Gangopadhyay is one of the prominent voices in contemporary Bengali poetry, having begun his literary journey in the mid-1990s. His poems have been translated into 7–8 languages and published in more than 150 international journals and anthologies across six continents. His published poetry collections include Inhabitant of Pluto Planet (2001), Offspring of Monster (2009), Holes of Red Crabs (2015), In the City of Myth and Mushroom (2023), Rhododendron Café (2023), and Poems of Shaswata Gangopadhyay (2023).

He has been invited to read his poems at literary festivals and poetry events in the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Australia, South Africa, Colombia, Portugal, as well as in London, Paris, Vienna, and Frankfurt. In 2024, he received the Sparkling Soul Award from Chile, participated in the renowned Gateway Lit Fest in Mumbai, and was honoured with the prestigious Voice of Kolkata Award. In July 2026, he was invited to represent Bengali poetry at the World Poetry Festival – Global Vision Summit (European Edition) in Athens, Greece.
