B.G. Gujjarappa (Gujjar) is a veteran Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and painter from Karnataka, celebrated for his powerful political cartoons and outstanding contributions to children's literature. He began his career as a history lecturer before becoming a founding cartoonist of Lankesh Patrike, later working with leading publications such as Deccan Herald and Prajavani. A founding member and trustee of the Indian Institute of Cartoonists, Bengaluru, Gujjar has illustrated over 1,000 children's books and authored several of his own. His socially conscious cartoons, election awareness campaigns, and expressive artworks in ink, digital media, and acrylic have earned him wide recognition in the fields of journalism, art, and illustration.
