Arunava Sinha is one of India's most celebrated literary translators, acclaimed for bringing Bengali, Hindi, and English literature to readers across the world. A prolific translator, he has translated more than 100 books, spanning classic, modern, and contemporary fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, making a significant contribution to the global appreciation of Indian literature.
A multiple award-winning translator, Sinha has received numerous prestigious honours, including the Crossword Translation Award, Muse India Translation Award, Kalinga Literary Festival Book Award for Translation, and the Banaras Literature Festival Rabindranath Tagore Award for Translation. His translations have also been shortlisted for several international literary prizes, earning widespread critical acclaim and global readership.
He is currently Professor of Practice in the Department of Creative Writing at Ashoka University and serves as Co-Director of the Ashoka Centre of Translation. Through his scholarship, translations, and teaching, Arunava Sinha continues to play a pivotal role in fostering cross-cultural literary exchange and expanding the global reach of Indian languages and literature.
