B. S. Shivakumar is a distinguished Professor of Kannada at Dravidian University, Kuppam, with more than 22 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. A respected scholar of Kannada, Tulu, Translation Studies, and Dravidian Languages, he has made significant contributions to interdisciplinary research and language studies. He has presented over 60 research papers at national and international conferences, authored and translated several important books, and guided eight doctoral scholars to successful completion. Beyond his academic pursuits, Dr. Shivakumar has held several key administrative positions at the university, contributing to institutional development and the promotion of higher education. His commitment to scholarship and language has earned him widespread recognition, including the Kannada Rajyotsava Award (2019) conferred by the Chennai Karnataka Sangha for his outstanding contribution to Kannada language and literature.
