Ba Na Subramanya (popularly known as Banasu or Subbanna) is a veteran film journalist, critic, and writer known for his extensive contributions to Kannada cinema journalism.
He has worked with leading publications including Andolana, Chitradeepa, Chitratara, Janavahini, Karmaveera, and Samyukta Karnataka, and co-founded Viggy.com, one of the pioneering websites dedicated to Kannada cinema. He has also served as a media representative at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), contributed to the editorial team of the Kannada University's history of Kannada cinema project, and served on the CBFC Advisory Committee and the National Film Awards jury.
A recipient of the Appaji Gowda Memorial Award (2004), the Kempegowda Award (2019), and the Special Mention for Film Criticism at the 69th National Film Awards (2023), Badur N. Subrahmanya currently serves as the President of the Karnataka Film Journalists Association.
