K. N. Shanth Kumar is a veteran media professional, editor, publisher, and Director of The Printers (Mysore) Pvt. Ltd., publishers of Deccan Herald, Prajavani, Sudha and Mayura. Associated with the organization since 1983, he has played an important role in shaping its editorial and publishing journey. He has served as Editor of Deccan Herald and Prajavani. He has held leadership positions in the media industry, including Chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulations and Chairman of the Press Trust of India. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Indian Newspaper Society.

Beyond journalism, Shanth Kumar has a deep engagement with literature, art, photography, culture and public discourse. He is the President and Founding Trustee of the Bangalore International Center (BIC), a significant platform for conversations on literature, arts, culture, society and ideas. His association with BIC reflects his commitment to nurturing Bengaluru’s intellectual and cultural ecosystem.
