C. Somashekhara is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre. During his distinguished administrative career, he served in several key leadership positions, including Managing Director, Commissioner, Secretary, Director, and Deputy Commissioner across various departments of the Government of Karnataka.   Known for his extensive experience in public administration and governance, his final assignment was as Secretary, Department of Co-operation, Government of Karnataka, from November 2013 to June 2014.
