Indrakumar H.B. is a government school teacher and a noted Kannada writer. He has published five short story collections and four novels. He has received several prestigious literary honours, including two Book Brahma Awards, the Kuvempu Prize, U.R. Ananthamurthy Prize, G.S. Shivarudrappa Prize, Besagarahalli Ramanna Story Prize, H. Shantharam Prize, Basavaraja Kattimani Prashasthi and Aralu Prashasthi. He has also won a gold medal in the Gulbarga University story-writing competition. His stories have been translated and published in Marathi and Malayalam, and his story Soojidaara has been adapted into a film. He has served as a state-level resource person for developing school textbooks and training manuals. His 1,500-page novel Innu Samudra... is among his notable literary works.
