Indrakumar H. B. is an acclaimed Kannada novelist, short story writer, and educator from the Chitradurga–Davanagere region of Karnataka. A government school teacher by profession, he is widely recognized for his powerful storytelling, which reflects the complexities of rural life and contemporary society.   He is the author of five short story collections and four novels, including the monumental Innu Samudra. His literary excellence has been recognized with numerous prestigious honours, including two Book Brahma Awards, the Kuvempu Prize, U. R. Ananthamurthy Prize, G. S. Shivarudrappa Prize, Basavaraja Kattimani Prashasti, Aralu Prashasti, and the Besagarahalli Ramanna Story Award, among many others. He has also won first prize in the Prajavani Short Story Competition and received a Gold Medal in Gulbarga University's story-writing competition.   His works have been translated into Marathi and Malayalam, while his acclaimed short story Soojidaara was adapted into a feature film. Alongside his literary achievements, Indrakumar H. B. has contributed to school education as a resource person for the development of state-level textbooks and teacher training manuals.
