
Basavaraj Kuruva
“Writer and Folklore Expert Kuruv Basavaraj hails from Kuruv village in Nyamathi Taluk, which was earlier part of Shivamogga and is now in Davanagere district. He holds an M.A. in Kannada from Karnataka University and earned his Ph.D. from Bangalore University for his dissertation titled “Janapada Mahakavyagala nirmana pratibheya nelagalu.” Additionally, he conducted a study on Karnataka’s folk music under the Karnataka Janapada Academy Fellowship.
