Basavaraju K.S, born in Tumkur, Karnataka, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Printmaking from Shantiniketan, a BFA in Painting from M.M.K. College of Visual Art, Gulbarga, and a Graduation Diploma in Painting and Art Master Diploma from Ravindra Kalanikethana, Tumkur.
He has participated in various prestigious exhibitions, including the Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy Annual Exhibition, Bombay Art Exhibition, Lokamanya Tilak Art Exhibition in Pune, All India Mysore Dasara Exhibition, Birla Academy Art Exhibition in Kolkata, and AIFACS Karnataka State Exhibition. His work has also been showcased in group shows like the Uncertainty Wood Cut Prints Exhibition in Bangalore and the Graphic Prints Exhibition at Varna Art Gallery in Bangalore.
His solo shows have been held at Ravindra Kalanikethan in Tumkur, Shree Kalaniketan Art Gallery in Mysore, and Birla Auditorium in Tumkur. Mr. Basavaraju’s awards include the Tumkur Jilla Kannada Rajyotsava Award, 48th Karnataka Lalitkala Academy Annual Award, Gulbarga University Silver Jubilee Award, and the AIFACS Award, New Delhi.
He also received the Graphic Fellowship from the Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy and the Merit Scholarship from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. His works are part of collections at CMR University, Chitra Kala Parishath, Bangalore, GE Bio-Technology, and numerous private collections in India and abroad.
