Deepa Ravishankar began her stage journey at the age of five with B.V. Karanth’s Panjarashaale and has since acted in over 200 theatrical productions under acclaimed directors like M.S. Sathyu and Rajendra Karanth. Transitioning into screen, she has played key roles in numerous Kannada television serials (Lakshmi Baramma, Seethe, Yaarivalu) and films (Act 1978, Cherry, Whistle).

A prolific writer, she penned over 250 weekly columns for Vijayavani and maintains the much-loved reflective series Annana Jothe Baduku. With an MA in Kannada, Deepa is also a sought-after moderator at literary festivals, known for her insightful conversations with eminent thinkers. She brought poetic wisdom to digital audiences through her video series Kagga Maarga interpreting Mankuthimmana Kagga on Vistara News.

She is a former member of the Central Board of Film Certification, having reviewed and certified over 100 films. Deepa’s work seamlessly bridges the worlds of performance, literature, and cultural discourse.
