“Dr Pattipaka Mohan is a poet, writer, critic, translator, anchor and children litterateur and has pioneered to organize creative writing workshops for children and children’s writers. Mohan was born on 5th January, 1972 in Rajanna Siricilla District, Telangana. Mother Smt. Gangabai- father Shri Laxmirajam is a business man and elected public representative (Corporater and Director CESS).
He holds a Master’s degree and Ph.D. from Osmania University in Telugu literature (Topic: Ghazal Tradition in Telugu: A Critical Review). He is working as Asst. Editor (Telugu) and Officer in charge, Southern Regional Office, Bengalore, National Book Trust, India (Ministry of Education, Government of India.)
Children Literature (51): He started writing early in school (in 7th class). He has written 14 books, edited and compiled 15 books in children literature and translated 22 books for children in to Telugu.
Other books: He also written 12 books in various genres like poetry, criticism, short story, long poem, literary historyand compiled and edited 19 books.He also worked as Editor for Telangana State Government Telugu text books for classes 2 to 5th. His writings included in Maharashtra and other Telugu Text books for class 2 and 3. Some of his significant works in children literature are ‘Pillalakosam Mana Kavulu’,‘Chandamama Rave’, ‘Vennamuddalu’, ‘Akupachani Paata’ (songs on Swach Sarvekshan), ‘Aa.. Aa.. Ee..Ee’ (nonsense rhymes), ‘Okkesi Puvvesi Chandamama’, ‘Baalala Taata Baapuji’, ‘Jayahoo! Baala Saahityam’ etc., in Children literature.
Other works in various genres are Bantipoolu (Haiku), Kaumudi (criticism), Tegina Pogu (long poem on weaver suicides), Kafan, Pachabottu (Naneelu), ‘Samudram’, ‘Khadgadhdara and ‘Lockdown’ poetry anthologies are some other works.
Pattipaka Mohan won First Andhra Pradesh State Youth Award in Literature (1997), Telugu University ‘Keerthi Puraskaram’ (2009) for creative writings and Telugu University ‘Balasahitya Puraskar’ (2011 State Sahitya Akadey Merged in Telugu University ), awarded with ‘Telangana State Formation Day Dist. Literary Award’, ‘Dr Nannapaneni Mangadevi Balasahitya Puraskar’(2017),‘DrVedagiri Rambabu Balsahitya Puraskar’ (2017),‘Balabandhu’ Samatarao Balsahitya Puraskar’ (2019), ‘Kalabandu Saripalli Kondalrao Sahiti Puraskar’, ‘Angalakuduti Sundarachary Litt. Award’(2017), ‘Madurakavi Mallavarapu John Kavi ‘Janudi’ Award’ (2017), ‘Smt. Shakuntala Jaini First Children Literature Award’, Telangana Saraswata Parishad’s‘Dr.Tirumala Srinivasa Charya Dharmanidhi Puraskar’ (2020), ’Kaloji Karmayogi Award’,‘Manchipalli Satyavati National Children Literature Award’ (2020)and’Kaloji Balasahitya Puraskar’(2020) and other 20 plus awards conformed in the field of Children literature and others.
His collection of songs for children, long poem on weavers’ suicides and naneelu are extremely popular. Participated in various national and international conferences, symposiums and seminars in India and abroad. His children literature translated into Hindi, English, Kannada, Odia and Nepali.”
