
“Dr. Peddinti Ashok Kumar, a mathematics teacher from Bheemunimallareddypet, Rajanna Sircilla district, Telangana, is a respected Telugu writer. Since 1999, he has written 300+ short stories, 7 novels, 100 essays, 5 plays, and 10 anthologies.
His works are known for their rich style and realistic portrayal of Telangana’s social history, focusing on rural life and the changes brought by urbanization and globalization.
His literature has inspired several MPhil and PhD dissertations. His novel “Jigiri” has been translated into 12 Indian languages, and his stories have appeared in Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, and English collections. Books like “Jigiri” and “Long March” are also part of university curricula.
As an educator, he introduced unique methods like “Anubhava Paathalu”, where senior citizens teach real-life lessons to students.
Currently, he is also contributing to the film industry, writing dialogues, stories, and lyrics for Telugu cinema.”
