Endapalli Bharathi

Endapalli Bharathi is a writer and rural journalist from Diguvaburuju village near Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh. Born in 1981 into a poor Dalit family, she has balanced farm work, household duties, and journalism for over 25 years. As co-editor of Navodayam, a magazine for women’s self-help groups, she has played a key role in its growth and impact. Bharathi’s short stories, written in her local dialect, reflect the lives and struggles of rural women and have earned her several literary awards. She is also a documentary filmmaker and an active member of the Network of Women in Media, India.
