“A passionate folk artist and cultural advocate, Thennadar Ambikapathi has been actively engaged in promoting traditional Tamil folk music and literature for over three decades. Renowned for singing folk songs on public platforms, including special sessions for school and college students, Thennadar Ambikapathi received the prestigious Kalaivalarmani award from the Tamil Nadu State Government and was recognized as the Best Folk Singer for the year 2003–2004.

Currently serving as an Art & Culture Instructor for students of classes 6 to 9 in government schools, Thennadar works under the Tamil Nadu Government’s Integrated Education Scheme (2022–23) to promote arts through school festivals. A regular participant in Tamil cultural gatherings across educational institutions, Thennadar also contributes actively to arts and literature forums through talks and workshops.

In addition to artistic endeavors, Thennadar holds the role of Vedaranyam Regional Correspondent for the Dinamani Tamil newspaper, further reflecting a deep commitment to Tamil culture, communication, and social awareness.”
