“Manjula Hulikunte, born on December 17, 1992, in Hulikunte village, Doddaballapur taluk, Bangalore Rural district, is a poet and journalist She completed her primary and secondary education in her hometown and pursued her PUC at Srimati Narasamma Thimmarayappa Pre-University College, Tyamagondlu She earned a degree in Arts from Sri Kongadiyappa College, Doddaballapur, followed by a Diploma in Journalism from Baduku Community College, Bangalore

Manjula began her career with Kasturi News Channel and has since worked with leading news channels in Karnataka, including Suvarna News and TV9

Her documentary work on the topic of “”Youth Rights”” at Samvada organization led to the creation of the work *Heading Kodi* Additionally, she has published two poetry collections: *Deepaduluvina Katara* and *Hippe Huivana Ghamalu*

Manjula has received several prestigious awards, including the Dr C V Vatsaladevi Memorial Award for Emerging Poets from the Karnataka Writers’ Association in 2016, the Yuva Sahitya Puraskar from the Halasangi Friends’ Association Foundation in Vijayapura in 2018, the B Basavalingappa Endowment Award (2024) from the Karnataka State SC/ST Newspaper Editors’ Association, and the Kuvempu Yuva Kavi Award (2025) from the Kannada Sangharsh Samiti

Her poems and articles have been published in numerous newspapers, including *Vijaya Karnataka*, as well as online magazines Two of her poems were selected for the 2022 Bangalore University first-year B Com textbook”
