
“Pandit Dr. Pravin Godkhindi is a renowned Hindustani classical flautist from Karnataka, known for mastering both the gayaki (vocal) and tantrakari (instrumental) styles on the bansuri. Trained by his father Pandit Venkatesh Godkhindi, he began performing at age six and is today considered a top-ranking artist by All India Radio. He was the first Indian to perform on an 8-foot contrabass bansuri and to represent the instrument at the World Flutes Festival in Argentina.
Godkhindi has collaborated with legends like Ustad Zakir Hussain and Dr. Balamuralikrishna, and has received numerous awards, including the Surmani and Naada-Nidhi titles. He also created the popular “Raagatainment†series on YouTube, aiming to present 101 ragas in an accessible format. With a blend of tradition, innovation, and global reach, he continues to elevate the profile of Indian classical flute music worldwide.”
