
Prithviraj Kavathar
With over 25 years of experience in journalism, he has been a pivotal figure in Kannada media, serving more than two decades as a supplement editor at Udayavani, where he nurtured and showcased the voices of writers, artists, and photographers. An accomplished author, he has published five books, including notable autobiographies of Esther Ananthamurthy and Guru Bannanje Sanjeeva Suvarna, and his essays and articles have appeared widely in the Kannada press.
Deeply engaged with culture and performance, he co-founded Theatre Yaksha [Regd.], directing and presenting Yakshagana and theatre productions across India — from Delhi to Mumbai, Indore to Goa. He is known for blending tradition with contemporary sensibilities in his work.
Currently, he serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Languages at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and coordinates the Kannada and Regional Languages Centre, continuing his mission of fostering literature, art, and cultural dialogue.
