
Richa Chandru Bhavanam
Richa is a freelance photographer based in Bangalore, with a keen interest in women-centric narratives and themes that connect art, humanities, and nature. Schooled at Centre for Learning, Bangalore, and trained in Philosophy at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, she began her journey in photography under the mentorship of Diba Siddiqi, working with black-and-white film.
Her work has been exhibited at venues like India International Centre (Delhi), Alliance Française du Bengale (Kolkata), Max Mueller Bhavan (Bangalore), and Contemporary Arts Week (Delhi). She is the recipient of the Neel Dongre Award for Excellence in Photography (2014), Sahapedia Frames Grant (2018), and her series Somewhat Lost won accolades at the Chennai Photo Biennale and POY Asia (2022).
Her photographs have appeared in leading newspapers and digital platforms, reflecting her deep engagement with social, cultural, and environmental narratives.
