Shahjahana, born in 1974 in Kamalapuram, Khammam district, is the daughter of Dr. Dilawar Yakubbi and the sister of Akbar Mohammed and Shamshad Begum Mohammed; she is married to Sky Baba (Yusuf Baba). A prolific writer, her literary journey spans poetry collections such as Naqab (2005) and Fiza (2021), short stories like Laddhafni (2016) and Farida (2023), editorial work on Mohar (2021)—the first Telugu anthology of stories by Muslim women—and the groundbreaking novel Mera Jaha (2021), the first Telugu novel written by a Muslim woman.
