
Shivanand Kalave
Shivananda Kalave is a writer and journalist by profession, known for his writings that raise environmental awareness. He has traveled extensively across the Uttara Kannada district, documenting its agriculture, ecology, and local life. His travel writings are compiled in the book Kaadunelada Kaalamaana. He has also studied various facets of indigenous knowledge systems.
His popular columns include Mudeballi, Mullehannu (for Sampada.net, an online journal), Bahudhaanya (in Udayavani), and Dot Saalu (a documentation of water conservation efforts).

Shivananda Kalave has been honored with several awards, including the Environmental Journalism Award from the Karnataka State Government and the Asaamanya Kannadiga Award from Suvarna News. He is widely respected for educating fellow journalists on environmental concerns.
