Somashekar Shiraguppi

Somashekar Shiraguppi is a former Indian first-class cricketer and certified cricket coach from Dharwad, Karnataka. Born on 14 June 1974, he played as a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman in 41 first-class matches, mainly representing Karnataka from 1994 to 2000, and later Goa. He was part of Karnataka’s Ranji Trophy-winning teams in 1995–96, 1997–98, and 1998–99, as well as two Irani Cup victories. After retiring in 2006, he became an NCA Level-C certified coach, served as assistant coach for Karnataka’s senior team, and mentored wicket-keepers at the BCCI Specialist Academy. He is also the co-author of The Elite Batter, a technical guide for young cricketers.
