
“Subramani Ramesh has written various critical articles on modern literature. He works as an Assistant Professor at DRBCCC Hindu College, Chennai. Subramani Ramesh is a close observer of contemporary Tamil literature. He published many non-fiction works like ‘Anti-Storytelling Propaganda’, ‘Early Tamil Novels’, ‘Tamil Novel: Reading and Conversation’, ‘Pataipilkiyam’ (A Guide to Creative Tamil), ‘Tamil in Dalitism’, ‘Thonmam Dotta Kathagal’ (Essays on Storied based on Myths). He has published a collection of poems titled ‘Aan Kaakkai’ (Male Crow).
His contributions include ‘Tamil Short Story: History and Criticism’ and ‘Kaalaveli Kathagnirgal’ (Timeless Short Story Tellers). He has written a book based on the Craft of Perumal Murugan, titled ‘Perumal Murugan Illikathadam’, and a collection of short Stories based on the Mahabharatham, titled ‘Padma Viyugam’. He has received the ‘Panju Prize – 2023’ for the best critic for the book ‘Dalit Literature in Tamil’. The award included a prize money of Rs. 10,000 and a certificate of appreciation.
