Swarna Kilari

Writer Swarna Kilari was born in Kothagudem, in the erstwhile Khammam district. She holds a degree in Life Sciences and a postgraduate degree in Library Science.

She is a writer, translator, and traveler. Her numerous film analyses, essays, and travelogues have been published in various magazines and anthologies. Her short stories have appeared in several story collections and online magazines.

She translated Ammu Nair’s English book A Brief Hour of Beauty into Telugu as Lipthakalapu Swapnam, for which she received the prestigious Telugu University Translation Award. She co-authored the Telugu book 13-Padamoodu, based on the rescue operation of the Thai boys’ football team.

She is the editor of Inthiyanam, an anthology of travelogues by 45 women, and its sequel, Inthiyanam 2.0, which features travel narratives by 55 women. Swarna Kilari also translated Benyamin’s Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham (written by Joseph Koyippally as Goat Life) into Telugu as Meka Bathuku
