
Carlos Tamilavan
Carlos Tamilavan retired as Professor of Tamil from Bangalore University after serving Warsaw University in Poland and Dravidian University. He was honorary Director of Translation Centre of Bangalore Branch of Central Sahitya Akademy. He has written 7 novels and 5 short story collections in Tamil. He received the best novel award from Literary Garden,Canada for his novel Waarsaavil Oru Kadavul in 2008 and the same novel received best novel award from Karnataka Sahitya academy as the best Kannada translation. He was given the Best Critic Award in 2017 in Manonmaniam University. In 2025 he was given the prestigious Ma. Aranganathan award for his total contribution to Tamil Literature. Two novels are translated into Malayalam and one into Telugu. Recently the English version of his Tamil novel has appeared as Our Man in Warsaw. He is an internationally recognized Folklorist and has attended Summer Folklore workshop in Finland; he has read research papers in many seminars all over the world.
