
V S Kaikasi
Ms. Kaikasi V.S. is presently working as Asst. Professor of English, Govt. Arts and Science College Mankada , Malappuram. She has been actively involved in teaching English Language and Literature since 2010 in various government colleges. She is the recipient of the prestigious ‘Best Young Educationalist’ Award instituted by the Rotary Club International in the year 2015. In the year 2017 she was also awarded ‘ Most Inspiring Teacher ‘ in the category 40 under 40 instituted by The New Indian Express and she is only female member from Kerala to receive this honour. She has also to her credit several articles both in English and Malayalam published in peer reviewed journals and other publications. She has more than 40 paper presentations, both National and International and has also been invited for several lectures, and has published a number of articles in the field of literature, sociology and film studies. She is also an accomplished creative writer and bi-lingual translator whose poems have appeared in several national and international anthologies including ‘The Poetry of Flowers’ and ‘Mytho Madan’,‘Musings’ and ‘Shakespeare Sings’. She has translated Khyrunnisa Mam’s Howzzat Butterfingers to Malayalam as ‘ Itha Butterfingers’. She has also contributed to ‘Indian Literature’, the bi-monthly journal published by Sahithya Akademi. Recently her poems have been published in Borderless Journal and ‘The Kali Project ‘. Her lectures on Indian Aesthetics are available on Kerala University’s Digital Repository. In the year 2021 she received the first prize in the World Poetry Day Competition conducted by Christ Nagar College Maranalloor. She has also conducted interviews with Booker Prize Winner Arundhati Roy, Sahithya Akademi award winner Anita Nair , N S Madhavan , Jaisree Mishra and Jeet Thayyil among others.
