Vishwanath Hegde hails from Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. His works are majorly influenced by the diversified urban and rural cultures.  

He is known for his extensive experimentation in using twisted colour threads which in turn offers a varied texture, dimension and dynamic quality to the artwork. He believes incorporating such aspects enhances the depth and feeling of the paintings. Mr. Hegde is experimenting a similar technique with sculpting as well.  

Another distinctive feature of  Mr. Vishwanath Hegde’s artistic representation is his exploration of the culinary world which uses the colours, patterns and textures of traditional foods to create artworks. Nature and nature’s identical aspects are transformed into aesthetic form through his works.
