Yogindra Maravante

“Yogindra Maravanthe is a writer and columnist from Udupi’s Maravanthe village, currently working as an aerospace engineer at Airbus in Bristol, UK. He shares his experiences of life abroad through essays in leading Kannada magazines, winning Sudha weekly’s Ugadi awards in 2019 and 2021. His aviation series Aero Purana is a regular feature on Book Brahma.

His debut essay collection London Diary – Pages of a Non-Resident received the Ratnakar Varni–Mudanna Datti Award from the Kannada Sahitya Parishat.

He has directed two acclaimed documentaries—Banni Maravanthege on model panchayat work, and Chowkimane on the world of Yakshagana. Both are available on YouTube. In the UK, he leads a Yakshagana troupe and performs during visits to India. His upcoming book Murida Cycle, Hula Hoop Hudugi is in the works.”
