Renowned Kannada Film actress, singer, and theatre artist B. Jayashree is the granddaughter of renowned theatre artist Gubbi Veeranna. Jayashree, who made her theatre debut at the age of four, gained popularity through her acting which led her directly to theatre plays. She graduated from the famous National School of Drama. She is one of the senior artists working in both theatre and film. She is also a famous singer. In recognition of her achievements, the government of Karnataka elected her as a member of the Rajya Sabha in 2010. Jayashree, who has worked as the head of Rangayana, was honoured with the Padma Shri award in 2013.
